I am a homebody + home is my happy place, my sanctuary. Our mother Sara Rodgers Hughes, was a decorator, antiques and flea market shopper. It is only natural that my homes have been a work in progress for 50+ years. I still have pieces from early apartment days melded with antiques and classic modern from SR. It is casual, country, vibrant color, relaxed atmosphere, lots of light, lots of chairs with nods to English, French, African, Oriental + Contemporary. AND yes, I am STILL rearranging and tweaking.

My home is a mixture of colors and styles . . . a collage of old and new. There’s a little surprise, some laughs, a story of travels and an invitation to relax.
It’s ever changing and that requires rearranging. My interest in design will always be fueled by past and present and how they come together to reflect the story of my family. My favorite things about my home are the views of the outdoors, a comfortable chair with my dog snuggled up, and wafting aromas of my husband’s cooking. ❤️

Home to me is the people I am with. I spent the majority of my twenties away from “home” which taught me that my family and friends are what make me feel at home. As a designer, I choose to keep my space minimal as it fuels me with constant inspiration and room to collect special pieces all the way.
